Spiritual Counseling
My first memory of connecting to Spirit was when I was two years old. At that moment when I was terribly frightened, a soothing female voice explained the situation to me. The advice that I received in that experience was an insight that has stayed with me throughout my life. I have turned to Spirit ever since and have received important messages, not just for myself but for others, too - PIVOTAL advice that has changed my life and the lives of others around the world. My connection to Spirit is deep, not because I'm special, but just because I've developed a talent that EVERYONE has to the point where I'm very comfortable with it and have a faith that most still lack. My purpose in being here on Keen is to share that gift - to be a conduit to Spirit for those in need AND to ENCOURAGE them to do so for themselves, directly. I am not here to make you dependent on me but to be a TEMPORARY tool in your time of confusion, doubt or fear. Joined with my faith, I will hear your answers FOR you as you grow your own connection, based on the results you'll see, that Spirit is not only real and present but that It WANTS to help you - RIGHT NOW! I will transmit the voice of Spirit for you in the meanwhile so that you are motivated to learn to do it yourself - DIRECTLY. In the meanwhile, bless you just for reading this. Whether you choose to speak with me or not, I wish you well! God bless you.

Letters of the Scattered Brotherhood
Dear friends,
It may seem strange to you that you must be weak to be strong, that you gather the power invincible from the small elusive secret fountain within, which can only be found through thought. It is elusive because though it is there, eternal, it does not press; it must be sought; and there are so many things that delay the seeker. It is indeed a pilgrim's progress. But be of good cheer, much has already fallen away from you that is dross and you feel a certain freedom from fear and you sense your divine protection. Accept your responsibilities gaily, happily. Take these disciplines that you set up for yourselves like a happy game . . . . (read more)
My first experience with a psychic
by Rev. Carmen Cameron
The first time I visited a psychic was by accident. I was in high school in New Orleans, many years ago. My friend Lana wanted a psychic reading, but she was afraid to go alone. So I went with her. Before we went, a different friend named Cheryl from my after school job requested that I ask the psychic a question for her. She said, "Ask if Mickey is with Daddy." Her father had just died a few months before, but I had no idea who Micky was.
In all the excitement of meeting with the psychic, I forgot all about Cheryl's question. It wasn't my appointment and I wasn't paying for the psychic anyway. Lana was. I was just there to keep Lana company. We had to wait in the front room of the psychic's shotgun style house for about 20 minutes before Lana's appointment. It was a little creepy. Every square inch of each wall was covered by pictures of Jesus, crucifixes, and rosaries, with dozens of statues of the Virgin Mary on little shelves sticking out from the wall. Three small tables in the room were each covered with more than a dozen pure white candles. The air was thick with incense. . . . . (read more)
ACIM - Are "Psychic" Powers Desirable?
The answer to this question is much like the preceding one. There are, of course, no "unnatural" powers, and it is obviously merely an appeal to magic to make up a power that does not exist. It is equally obvious, however, that each individual has many abilities of which he is unaware. As his awareness increases, he may well develop abilities that seem quite startling to him. Yet nothing he can do can compare even in the slightest with the glorious surprise of remembering Who he is. Let all his learning and all his efforts be directed toward this one great final surprise, and he will not be content to be delayed by the little ones that may come to him on the way.
Certainly there are many "psychic" powers that are clearly in line with this course. Communication is not limited to the small range of channels the world recognizes. If it were, there would be little point in trying to teach salvation. It would be impossible to do so. The limits the world places on communication are the chief barriers to direct experience of the Holy Spirit, Whose Presence is always there and Whose Voice is available but for the hearing. These limits are placed out of fear, for without them the walls that surround all the separate places of the world would fall at the holy sound of His Voice. Who transcends these limits in any way is merely becoming more natural. He is doing nothing special, and there is no magic in his accomplishments.
The seemingly new abilities that may be gathered on the way can be very helpful. Given to the Holy Spirit, and used under His direction, they are valuable teaching aids . . . . (read more)
Psychic abilities
The Course makes it quite clear that "psychic abilities" are normal. Psychic abilities are more normal, in fact, than the modes of communication available through the limited five senses of the body. As with all things, the Course asks "what it is for?" The section near the end of the Manual for Teachers devoted to discussing psychic abilities . . . . (read more)
More old thoughts on psychic abilities
I've been thinking recently about psychics. The Course states, more or less, that psychic abilities are natural communication abilities, and that all joining is the joining of minds. It seems to me that becoming comfortable with, if not necessarily proficient at, what would usually be considered as psychic forms of communication would be a useful gateway to miracles. I'm wondering if it is possible to be comfortable with miraculous expressions if one is, at the same time, fearful of psychic forms of communication. Many forms of religion teach that psychic communications are dangerous . . . . (read more)
